Head – NbS Strategy and Origination

Sunil Kumar facilitates IORA’s initiatives for the development of projects on Carbon Forestry, Sustainable Land Management Practices, Payment for Ecosystem Services Mechanisms and Natural Resources Management.

He comes with years of experience in Agricultural Project Financing, Rural Infrastructure Financing, Rural Banking Supervision, Micro-Finance, Sustainable Banking and ESE, Community Investments and Climate financing.

Starting his career at the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, he moved to ABN AMRO and NatWest Group, where he leveraged significant investments in tiger landscapes and biodiversity hotspots in India, such as the Kanha-Pench corridor. His project ‘Poachers to protectors’also won the Best Innovation Award at the UN WTO. He is deeply committed to adding value to nature and biodiversity through sustainable investments.
