Senior Manager - Partnerships

About the Job

IORA Ecological Solutions is looking to hire a passionate and diligent “Senior Manager” to assist in securing partnerships and financing towards implementation of landscape conservation and value chain activities as part of its SLMC program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop matrix on interest and businesses related to carbon, water and biodiversity
  • Mobilize private sector finance demand for carbon credits and ecosystem services
  • Engage with corporates on shared landscape biodiversity and climate mitigation goals to meet demands for carbon finance
  • Develop value chains for forest-based/agriculture products and partnering with local/national enterprises
  • Identify market linkages for the forest-based/agriculture products and work with local industries to scale up local production and sales
  • Develop working relations with various stakeholders
  • Set up growth centres at regional level
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis based on the project objectives and develop data formats
  • Support in organising stakeholder consultations/workshops
  • Undertake travel related to work
  • Create engaging presentations and other materials for dissemination
  • Provide support to the project management team(s), develop research and project proposals for and project funding agencies, support senior team members in meetings, sessions, and follow-ups, and prepare notes, achieving project deliverables.

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Master’s in Business Administration or equivalent, with minimum, 7-8 years of work experience in building partnerships, business development, fund raising, CSR, stakeholder engagement and PPP management
  • Background in corporate relationships/partnerships, donor management, CSR and allied fields, preferably in environment/ecology space, with experience in proposal writing
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of mixed methods – qualitative and quantitative research methods etc.
  • Project management skills, strong communication skills for effective, efficient, and adaptive verbal and written communication, and attention to detail
  • Experience in organising stakeholder consultations
  • Experience working in the field (community interaction, data collection etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in challenging circumstances
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite

Research Associate (Forestry and Biodiversity) – Ecosystem Services

About the Job

IORA Ecological Solutions (“IORA”), a leading climate and conservation-focused organization, is looking for a passionate and diligent “Research Associate” to assist and support all Forestry & Biodiversity activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identification of research questions, designing research approach, and conduct systematic literature reviews
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis based on the project objectives
  • Conduct bio-physical assessment and ecosystem services valuation
  • Undertake travel related to work
  • Develop data formats for field data collection and execution of primary data collection
  • Developing high quality policy briefs, white papers, consultative papers, report writing, research papers for various audiences
  • Support in organising stakeholder consultations/workshops
  • Create engaging presentations and other materials for dissemination

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.

  • Master’s degree in environmental management/ agriculture/ ecological or environmental economics/econometrics/public policy or any other relevant field relevant
  • Minimum, 1 year of work experience in NRM, ecosystem management, protected areas, economic valuation, or forestry domain
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of mixed methods – qualitative and quantitative research methods relevant for ecosystem services evaluation and accounting, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, impact evaluation, etc.
  • Familiarity with TEEB, MEA and IPBES frameworks for Ecosystem Services and relevant valuation approaches
  • Project management skills, strong communication skills for effective, efficient, and adaptive verbal and written communication, and attention to detail
  • Experience in organising stakeholder consultations
  • Experience of working in the field (community interaction and data collection)

Iora Ecological Solutions (“IORA”), a leading climate and conservation-focused organization, is looking for a passionate and visionary “Research Associate” to assist and support all Forestry and Biodiversity activities under the USAID – India Project – Strengthening Landscape Management and Conservation. This position will be based in India, and contingent upon project award.

About the Project:

The five-year USAID project will be implemented with the Government of India (GoI) to
enhance the management of ecological landscapes for biodiversity conservation, human well-
being and climate benefits, contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, improved
carbon sequestration, and enhanced environmental benefits for the country. Through this
activity, USAID/India and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)
will strengthen management practices in targeted landscapes by: (1) improving the
management of protected areas and their corridors for wildlife conservation and other
ecological benefits; (2) improving inclusive livelihoods from ecosystem services and (3)
strengthening the conditions for institutionalizing landscape conservation.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing surveys for forestry and biodiversity assessment based on GIS and land
    strata
  • Preparing data formats for field data collection
  • Plan and implement project research processes and methodologies
  • Data compilation based on research papers and reports
  • Field data collection for biodiversity, forestry, or any other project, as and when required
  • Data arrangement and management
  • Statistical data analysis and report writing
  • Development of project proposals and other project collaterals project, forestry
    projects, etc.

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Forestry or related fields with 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of forestry operations and existing practices
  • Basic experience in forestry modelling, forest management planning, and participatory
    forest management.
  • Experience working in the field/ provinces
