Intern – RS GIS

Job Type: Full time

Location: Delhi, India

Number of Positions: 5

Start Date: Immediately

Duration: 3 Months

Stipend: 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 Per Month

About the Job

IORA Ecological Solutions is looking for dynamic, energetic interns who are interested in the RS GIS sector. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the Projects and work with the experts in the field.

The interns will be working closely with our team to conduct fieldwork, research, capture data, and coordinate with teams for project implementation.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of these interns would be to assist in –

  • Assist with GIS data creation and other inputs 
  • Assist with geospatial data management and archiving 
  • Assist with GIS-based map generation 
  • Participate in post-processing. 
  • Assist with report preparation. 
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS skills must be required.
  • Field data collection.
  • Any other research tasks assigned by IORA (desk-based).

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.

  • Pursuing or completing a Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Planning, RS GIS or related disciplines from a reputed university/institute.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate with different state government officials.
  • Candidate should have experience working with MS Office (Doc, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and statistical software.

Required skills include: ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, Data Analytics

Communications Intern

Job Title: Communications Intern

Job Location: Delhi

Duration: 3 Months (extendable as per requirement)

About the Job:

IORA is looking for a creative, social media savvy communications intern with knowledge of graphic designing as well as digital media.

Working closely with the communications team at IORA, you will support our digital outreach, manage public relations efforts (ranging from media outreach to coordination for events), and craft tailored innovative graphics on pressing forestry, climate, agriculture and energy issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging social media posts
  • Creating content for internal and external communication collaterals
  • Co-create engagement strategies and material for digital and conventional media and work towards executing these
  • Assist in developing content for campaigns, proofreading content for errors and inconsistencies, and improve readability of existing content
  • Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies that improve website traffic
  • Provide on-ground support for IORA’s events

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:

  • Completed Master’s Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication, Public Relations or Marketing
  • Proven content writing experience and portfolio of published/written pieces
  • Basic understanding of photography, infographics and video editing
  • Excellent English writing and editing skills

This internship offers a chance to gain valuable experience in content writing and communications for issues based advocacy.
Certificates shall be provided after successful completion of the internship.
