Raj Kumar Srivastava is an experienced forester with 32 years of service, primarily in the Indian Forest Service. Before retiring, he held the position of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in Karnataka, overseeing initiatives like the Green India Mission and the National Bamboo Mission. He specializes in digitalization strategy and strategy implementation, advocating for technological innovations as essential to human survival and promoting solutions rooted in a regenerative economy.
During his time advising the Government of Karnataka’s Department of Electronics, Information Technology & Biotechnology, Raj Kumar Srivastava gained valuable experience in policy development, particularly in conceptualizing and implementing schemes to support the state’s startup ecosystem. He also led digital transformation initiatives as Managing Director of the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation, showcasing his business acumen in managing large enterprises.
In the forestry sector, he has been instrumental in developing and deploying IT solutions, including setting up an ICT centre. His extensive 22-year fieldwork includes managing high forests in the Western Ghats and working with Local Self Governments on afforestation schemes outside traditional forest areas. His expertise and commitment have significantly impacted forestry and digital transformation in Karnataka.
