Investment Associate

Iora Ecological Solutions (“IORA”), a leading conservation finance organization, is hiring an Analyst / Associate to join the Investments team. Iora is currently raising a large fund to invest in Nature Climate Solutions (“NCS”) projects in India. The Analyst / Associate candidate will initially join Iora, then transition to the Fund entity once the fundraising process nears completion.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, highly experienced, and rapidly growing organization, with the additional opportunity of joining an NCS Fund at inception. The candidate will interact directly with CEO and CIO, and gain exposure to carbon markets, forestry, project finance, fund management, and financial structuring.

Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the candidate will be financial modeling. Additional duties will include communicating effectively across the organization and assisting in a range of investment process workstreams. The candidate will be based in Delhi and report to the CIO in New York. The candidate will also interface directly with the CEO in Delhi. The candidate will receive hands-on guidance from the CIO but will be expected to produce quality work with minimal supervision. This is an opportunity for motivated individuals to carve out a long-term career for themselves. A successful candidate will be eligible for promotion at the discretion of the CEO and CIO, pending performance. The candidate may also be eligible for stock option compensation, depending on experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum 2-3 years Financial modeling experience and a solid grounding in fundamental financial concepts.
  • High proficiency in Excel required.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to complete tasks on time
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Comfort analyzing and interpreting data
  • MBA is preferred but not required
  • Capital raising or M&A experience is a plus but not required
  • Private equity or other principal investing experience will be prioritized but is not required.
  • Experience in carbon markets is a plus but not required

Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience level.

Proposal Associate

Job Title: Proposal Associate
Job Location: New Delhi

About the Job:
IORA is looking to hire a Proposal Associate to support our growing work on environmental
conservation and climate change. The role will need someone who can support all facets of
proposal development, which includes ensuring content accuracy, outreach and coordination
with partners and resource mobilization with IORA team in line with our organisation’s vision.
This role is idea for someone who has a background in the environmental/social impact field
and is passionate about making a difference in this sector.

Responsibilities:
1. Identification of new opportunities:
1. New RFPs/RFQs/EOIs/Request for Empanelment
2. Collaborate with the technical experts at IORA in developing new concept notes
and pitch presentation for potential donors
3. Creating and updating a roster of potential donors and their focus areas which
are relevant to IORA’s work

2. Proposal Development and Submission:
1. Supporting in preparation of concept notes, presentations and EOIs
2. Drafting formal letters
3. Preparation of Description sheets for shortlisted calls in IORA’s prescribed
format
4. Identification of resource need for a proposal – staffing, budget and timeline
5. Analysing the RFPs thoroughly and listing out all required mandatory
documentations and conditions to support the respective technical team in
ensuring proper & timely submission as per the client’s requirements
6. Drafting and compilation of Bidding documents
7. Ensure proper formatting, editing and printing as per IORA’s branding guidelines
and in line with the requirements of the client
8. Supporting all modes of proposal submission (Electronic mail/Online portal/hard
Copies/ or others) as required

3. Data Management for Business Development:
1. Updating team CVs as required
2. Maintaining proposals data base
3. Updating Project description sheets as and when required
4. Coordinate with team members/project managers for additional details on CVs
and project descriptions as and when required

4. Any other miscellaneous tasks required for Business Development

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Business Development/Social
Sciences/Environmental Sciences/ Law or other related disciplines
2. 1-2 years of experience working in organisations in the environment and development
space, ideally on Proposal development and partnerships. Freshers with exceptional
communication skills and understanding are welcome.
3. Strong understanding of MS Office including MS Word, PowerPoint and MS Excel.
4. Organised, meticulous and attention to detail are essential
5. Ability to meet deadlines
6. Understanding of government e procurement system preferred
7. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Good strategic planning abilities
9. Strong time management skills
10. Strong research and analytical skills. Willingness to solve research problems with
creative thinking.
11. Ability to read and synthesise quantitative and qualitative information quickly and
succinctly.
12. Ability to make coherent and strong written arguments and proposals.

IORA is looking for motivated interns in the Forestry and Biodiversity vertical. This is a great opportunity with scope for both on-site and expert-driven learning. The interns will work closely with our team to conduct research, capture data, coordinate with teams for project implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide research support for diverse projects across agriculture, climate mitigation and adaptation, and forestry sectors
  • Conduct literature review and secondary research for ongoing/relevant projects
  • Support in data collection, data collation and analysis
  • Engage and coordinate with team leads and key stakeholders

Communications Intern

Job Title: Communications Intern

Job Location: Delhi

About the Job:

IORA is looking for a creative, social media savvy communications intern with knowledge of graphic designing as well as digital media.

Working closely with the communications team at IORA, you will support our digital outreach, manage public relations efforts (ranging from media outreach to coordination for events), and craft tailored innovative graphics on pressing forestry, climate, agriculture and energy issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging social media posts
  • Creating content for internal and external communication collaterals
  • Co-create engagement strategies and material for digital and conventional media and work towards executing these
  • Assist in developing content for campaigns, proofreading content for errors and inconsistencies, and improve readability of existing content
  • Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies that improve website traffic

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
