Ankit is a key researcher for IORA’s initiatives on Forestry and Biodiversity Conservation, and has 5 years of experience in wildlife research, Geneticist and Molecular Ecologist. His expertise lies in molecular data analysis, population genetics and phylogeny. He has spearheaded the development of a genetic database for captive elephants in India, contributing to the understanding of the genetic status of various species, from Antarctic seabirds to endangered species like dugongs, wild buffalo, and Kashmir red deer. He has published peer-reviewed papers and has contributed to community outreach via translation of wildlife comics and community sensitisation.
