Dr Sumit Arya is a seasoned wildlife professional and supports IORA’s Forestry and Biodiversity team with its flagship initiatives for landscape restoration and conservation. His passion lies in the realms of population ecology, ecological restoration, human-wildlife conflict and the implementation of mitigation measures, as well as biodiversity assessments and conservation. His expertise encompasses avian ecology, multi-taxa sampling, habitat assessment, and environmental impact assessments. With over a decade of hands-on experience in the field of conservation science, he has actively contributed to diverse projects at the Wildlife Institute of India, encompassing landscape conservation, biodiversity assessments, and EIA-related initiatives in the Western Himalayas, Eastern Himalayas, and Central India.
