Dr Gopal K Kadekodi
A distinguished economist and leading authority in environmental economics, natural resource management, ecological governance, and sustainable development. He holds an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and B.Stat and M.Stat degrees from the Indian Statistical Institute, he is internationally recognized as a Fulbright Fellow, Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and recipient of the Thomas Nixon Carver Award. With over five decades of academic, research, and policy experience, he has served as Director of the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Professor at the Institute of Economic Growth, and Visiting Professor in Europe and the United States.Â
His extensive portfolio includes contributions to national committees on environment, climate policy, natural resource accounting, and Himalayan studies. He is currently Adjunct Professor at Karnatak University, Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute, Advisor to WALMI Dharwad, member of key research advisory bodies, and Patron or Trustee of several ecological and community institutions.
